What a better way to celebrate the first day of the Summer, with an easy and breezy white summer bridal bouquet. Summer is often associated with bold sunny color, but white is also part of the picture. Think about fields of white daisies... Sweet memories of trouble-free summertime will probably start to pop in your mind. Mini callas and Lilly of the Valley are amazing flowers that instantly add unassuming elegance to a design, and also happen to be associated with this time of the year.
The wedding bouquet we are featuring today was designed by the super talented Michi Burrell, AIFD, during a show in which she was performing last spring in Orange County. This international renowned floral designer and instructor, is a 35 year veteran of the floral industry, a winner of the FTD America's cup, and was also a world cup USA representative. With so much experience under her belt, it is no wonder she is capable to assemble a stunning wedding bouquet, in practically no time.
Michi started her design by clustering 3 nice stems of Hydrangeas, which provided a nice base to build this hand-tied bouquet. She then added individual stems around and inside the Hydrangeas, while constantly turning the bouquet in her right hand to achieve visual balance. She finished this wedding design by creating a nice loop with the Maiden grass and inserting it last in the bouquet. She wrapped the bouquet using a rubber band, which she then covered with a variegated Aspidistra leaf. The end result was very organic with an elegant European touch.
